Andrés de Ribera Foundation

 

► General Overview

The Andrés de Ribera Foundation was established on 10 July 1987 by public deed and was officially recognised as an institution of general cultural interest by the Regional Government of Andalusia on 10 April 1989 (Official Gazette of Andalusia No. 50).

The Foundation is currently registered in the Registry of Foundations of Andalusia (Registration No. CA-481), under the section "Cultural, Civic, and Sports Foundations", having updated its statutes in accordance with Law 10/2005.

 

► Nature and Governance

The Foundation is a non-profit public interest entity, promoted by the City Council of Jerez and the Provincial Government of Cádiz.

Its governing and representative body is the Board of Trustees, currently composed of:

  • President: Ms. María José García-Pelayo Jurado

  • Vice President: Mr. Francisco Zurita Martín

  • Trustees: Mr. Antonio Real Granado and Mr. José Ángel Aparicio Hormigo


 

► Foundational Aims

The mission of the Foundation is to contribute to the cultural and tourism development of Jerez by promoting access to and enjoyment of local heritage through:

  • The permanent public exhibition of:

    • The historic clock collection (Palacio del Tiempo Museum)

    • The silverware and ivory walking stick collections

    • The exhibition area dedicated to traditional local products (El Misterio de Jerez / Wine Palace)

  • The sponsorship, organization, and hosting of cultural exhibitions, events, and artistic activities.

  • The execution of related economic activities, as permitted under current legislation.

  • The development of cultural, tourism, and educational programmes, either directly or in partnership with public or private entities, through agreements or sponsorship initiatives.

 


► Stakeholder Relations

The Foundation’s Social Responsibility Strategy is based on a collaborative and transparent relationship with its stakeholders. This approach provides opportunities to innovate, anticipate risks, and respond more effectively to social and cultural demands.

Identified Stakeholders:

  • Users: Museum visitors and attendees at cultural and conference events

  • Clients: Institutional, corporate, and cultural partners

  • Suppliers

  • Foundation staff

  • Media and opinion leaders

  • Partner organisations and trustees

  • Local community and social environment

 


► Community Engagement

The Andrés de Ribera Foundation demonstrates a strong commitment to the local community in which it operates. Its activities aim to benefit primarily the residents of Jerez, the province of Cádiz, and the Andalusian region, without excluding broader national outreach.

As a Local Public Foundation, in accordance with Article 40 of Andalusia’s Local Autonomy Law (Law 5/2010), the institution reinforces its public service mission.

The Foundation serves as a catalyst for initiatives that promote artheritagesocial inclusion, and sustainable cultural tourism.
